Calendar Year is an audio and fabric installation. Once inside, you can sit or lie down and listen to a recording of selected journal entries from the artist’s experiences that year.

The tent structure features a quilt that was compiled from February 2017 through January 2018. Each square in the quilt represents one day from the year and uses color to code the artist’s emotional impression of each day according to one of three factors: health, work, or relationships.

Calendar Year was exhibited during DC Listening Lounge’s Sound Scene: Mapping Memory at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden on July 7-8, 2018.
