Greenway Quartet

GREENWAY QUARTET is a four-part, site-specific audio installation exploring a mysterious phenomenon in Washington, DC gardens. Your guide tries to understand the phenomenon after reconnecting with a friend from university under peculiar circumstances. Her investigations take her all around the National Mall, from the Smithsonian Institution’s Enid A. Haupt Garden to the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden. Your guide takes you to the Smithsonian Institution’s only gated park, the Enid A. Haupt Garden, where she shares with you the unsettling events of a reunion with her university classmate in part one of the series.

 The Summerhouse

Part two follows your guide on the next phase of her adventure through the Lower and Upper Senate Parks to a peculiar structure on the U.S. Capitol West Lawn known as The Summerhouse. 

The Water Garden

In part three, you join your guide as she continues her research into the mysterious phenomenon in the gardens. She suspects the involvement of certain men in gray suits, and her investigation is about to take a riskier turn. This route begins near the Spirit of Justice Park and takes you to the U.S. Botanic Garden.

The Grove

Join your guide on the final installment that takes you from the U.S. Navy Memorial, through the Smithsonian Butterfly Habitat Garden, and then to the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden. Many of her questions will be answered, but at what cost?
